Last week Senator Wong tried to deceive the public with the selective release of dodgy modelling of a fabricated Coalition policy.
Then on Friday the Government had a second go which was dismissed without even being reported.
When we released our Direct Action Plan yesterday we warned they would try again - and today Senator Wong has produced another dodgy document with no modelling.
Late today the Government and Senator Wong’s office have been caught hawking a 1½ page dodgy document, just as predicted. It even comes to the same figure as last week’s dodgy document! This is just another example of the desperation of the Government on this issue. The document is not only dodgy and completely rejected but was the predicted misuse of departmental resources.
The Coalition’s Direct Action Plan will deliver environmental benefits and meet our emissions targets without the need for a great big new tax on everything.
It is fully costed and the estimated emissions reductions have been verified by Frontier Economics.
Labor’s ETS is a great big new tax on everything that Mr Rudd has been unable to explain.
For months the Government has refused to publicly release Treasury modelling on their ETS, yet is apparently able to conduct and release this so-called ‘modelling’ of the Coalition’s Direct Action Plan in just one day.
Instead of using departmental resources for political purposes the Government should release in full the Treasury costings of their ETS so all Australians can see the full impact of Labor’s great big new tax on families, households and businesses.
