The Liberal National Government is investing $10 million to improve the Forest Drive and Uralla Road intersections on Nepean Highway
Federal Member for Flinders, the Hon Greg Hunt MP, said funding will be provided to improve the intersections of Forest Drive and Uralla road with the Nepean Highway in Mount Martha.
“In 2016, after months of negotiation with the Victorian Government, $200,000 in Federal Government funds were secured for temporary upgrades to the Forest Drive intersection,” Minister Hunt said.
“For three years, the local community has waited for the State Labor Government to step up to the plate and work constructively to expand on these works and deliver a long term solution to both Forest Drive and Uralla Road.”
“I’ve spoken to countless locals on this issue over the years and recently received hundreds of signatures on my petition this year to get this issue fixed.
“The Liberal National Government is acting to improve road safety at these two notorious black spots by investing $5 million into Forest Drive and $5 million into Uralla Road. I call on the Labor Party to come to the table and work with VicRoads to deliver these much needed upgrades for the local community.
“They have ignored calls from the community for far too long. Now with this funding delivered for the community by the Liberal National Government, it is the time for them to get on with the job.”
