The Morrison Government’s $20 million for research grants into ovarian cancer opens today.
Ovarian cancer is estimated to be the tenth most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australian women and currently has no reliable early detection screening test.
We are supporting research that leads to improved diagnosis and treatment of ovarian cancer.
The $20 million in funding will be provided through the Medical Research Future Fund’s (MRFF) Emerging Priorities and Consumer Driven Research Initiative.
The grant opportunity is now open for innovative high quality research which will contribute to a greater understanding of the causes and underlying factors contributing to the development and progression of ovarian cancer.
The Government’s investment to drive further research into ovarian cancer will save lives and protect lives.
Early detection and finding a cure for ovarian cancer is a priority for this funding.
Consumer involvement in the design and evaluation of the research projects – including participation in the conduct of the research – is strongly supported.
The MRFF is a $20 billion investment in the health of Australians, our economy and the sustainability of our health system.
The MRFF is investing to supercharge the growth of our health and medical research, while fuelling jobs, economic growth and export potential.
