A re-elected Liberal National Government will invest $300,000 into stage two of redevelopment at the Point Leo Surf Life Saving Club.
Stage two works will include infrastructure upgrades, including:
- A new boardwalk
- External amenities such as outdoor showers
- A barbeque terrace
- Infrastructure improvements to meeting places
Liberal Member for Flinders, the Hon. Greg Hunt MP, said the funding would ensure Point Leo Surf Life Saving Club can plan for the future.
“In my time as the local MP, I have seen the fantastic work that Point Leo Surf Life Saving Club has done for our community and for community groups such as the Disabled Surfers Association of Australia,” Minister Hunt said.
“When you attend the Disabled Surfers Association events in Point Leo and see the smiling faces on people who struggle to get to the beach, you see the great work Point Leo Surf Life Saving Club and their volunteers do in the community.”
“The Liberal National Government was able to previously help the club install their disabled access ramp to the beach through the Stronger Communities Programme and I’m delighted that we have been able to secure $300,000 to assist in stage two of the Club’s redevelopment.”
