I am delighted that the Federal Government is assisting older residents, younger people with a disability and their carers by providing an additional $198,000 in funding through the Home and Community Care (HACC) program for the Flinders electorate.
With an ageing population, we need to ensure our services are able to meet the growing demand.
The HACC program provides invaluable support to our most vulnerable residents so it is fantastic to see this funding expanded.
It is part of an additional $21.3 million for HACC in Victoria, which will deliver an extra 200,000 hours of care and support to people in their own homes.
Older Australians deserve to have the support they need to lead active, healthy lives and to continue to stay in their own homes where possible.
HACC services provide practical assistance, including allied health care, personal care, meals and social support, property maintenance, nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy as well as respite services for carers.
