I am pleased to announce that construction is underway to connect a further 73,600 homes and businesses to the nbn in the Flinders electorate.
This will provide superfast broadband at affordable prices that will be revolutionary for small businesses, students and people working from home.
I hope residents and businesses will take advantage of this access to Australia’s new digital era.
The nbn’s high-speed broadband services are fast and reliable, enabling households and smalls businesses to be more productive and better connected for years to come.
It is fantastic to see the rollout of high-speed internet gathering pace across the electorate with simplified network construction.
The Coalition’s multi-technology mix largely removes the need for in-home rewiring or civil works on private property, allowing the nbn to be rolled out faster and more affordably.
Following a disastrous start under the Labor Government, we have managed to get the nbn rollout back on track.
In four years, Labor spent more than $6 billion to connect 50,000 users. The Turnbull Government is currently connecting more than 90,000 users every month. That’s nearly twice as many in a month as Labor did in four years.
Australia-wide there are now more than 3.5 million premises that can connect to the NBN.
The nbn is on-track to be ready-for-service or under construction in every town in the electorate by September 2018.
