With less than a week to go until I set out on my 500km walk around the electorate to increase awareness about autism, I am humbled by the support I have already received.
Cricket Australia has generously donated a cricket bat signed by the Australian Cricket team that will be auctioned off at Abacus’ gala dinner on August 15.
This will be a fantastic night at the Mornington Racecourse hosted by Abacus Learning Centre and featuring Matt Tilley from Kiis FM as the MC for the evening.
Former Victorian Premier Denis Napthine will also be a guest speaker on the night.
There will be some fabulous auction items up for grabs, including overseas getaways, a private cocktail party and a family trip to Mt Hotham as well as raffles and door prizes.
Tickets can be purchased directly from Abacus’ website at www.abacuslearning.org.au
I am looking forward to starting my walk on Monday July 20 at Arthurs Seat.
The main reason for my walk is to increase awareness about autism, while also raising funds for Abacus Learning Centre in Hastings and Amaze (Autism Victoria).
With more than 230,000 Australians affected by autism, most people know someone who is impacted.
I encourage community members to join me on my walk to help improve the lives of the next generation of children living with autism.

I appreciate the tremendous support I have already received for the walk and thank everyone who has made a donation.
This year I am hoping to raise $25,000 to help children living with autism.
