Rosebud Secondary College received a boost to their efforts to secure a Wellness Pavilion, with the Federal Government formally signing off on $300,000 in funding for the centre.
Federal member for Flinders, the Hon. Greg Hunt MP, today joined with students and teachers from the School to celebrate the newest milestone in the project.
“I have been working with students, teachers and supporters of Rosebud Secondary College for a considerable time to make this project a reality and it is great to be at the school today to celebrate their success,” Minister Hunt said.
“This facility will have the ability to help students facing mental health challenges and ensure an on campus home for mental health outreach to improve their own wellbeing. I look forward to watching it continue to progress.”
With federal funding now delivered, Minister Hunt has called on the Victorian Government to match the $300,000.
“This project is a genuine opportunity for the Victorian and Federal Governments to together for the community. The Member for Nepean has been in meetings with myself and the school and expressed his support for the school’s endeavours. I now hope this verbal support is met with financial commitment, as it was by the Morrison Government.”
“The school has done the hard yards, raising $480,000 towards the building of the pavilion. It has been supported by the Morrison Government, now I hope the Member of Nepean can do the same.”
