Lawn Bowlers in Rosebud will now be able to bowl well into the evening, thanks to the completed installation of lights at the Rosebud Beach Bowls Club.
Funded by the Morrison Government and the Mornington Peninsula Shire, the project means that the main green at Rosebud Beach now has competition-grade lighting, meaning the club can host evening tournaments, as well as provide more community events.
Federal Member for Flinders, the Hon. Greg Hunt MP, welcomed the switching on of the lights, meaning games can now continue well into the evening.
“Two years ago, I met with Councillor Antonella Celi and members of the Rosebud Beach Bowls Club to discuss lighting at the Club,” Minister Hunt said.
“At the 2019 election, I was proud to secure $25,000 for lighting at Rosebud Beach and I’m pleased that Rosebud is now ready to flick the switch.”
“This project is a good example of how cooperation between the community, local government and the Commonwealth can lead to improved community infrastructure. I thank the Mornington Peninsula Shire for their work on this project.”
Seawinds Ward Councillor Antonella Celi echoed Minister Hunt’s comments, saying she looked forward to getting out onto the green with the community.
“Thank you to Greg Hunt for responding to the call to provide the funds needed for lights at the Rosebud Beach Bowls Club,” Councillor Celi said. “Great results are achieved when we all work together to deliver for our community.”
