Energy storage in Australian homes and businesses will play an increasingly important role as we continue the transition to a low emissions future.
That is why the Turnbull Coalition Government welcomes the release of new battery storage guidelines developed by the Clean Energy Council.
These guidelines have been established following extensive consultation with the energy sector, electricity safety agencies and the CSIRO.
Developing these guidelines is an important step in ensuring Australians can install battery storage systems with confidence that the systems are safe and will work as specified.
The Clean Energy Council is to be congratulated for taking this pro-active step to ensure the safe installation of battery storage systems.
The expected strong uptake of battery storage will play a key role in supporting renewable energy, cutting emissions and boosting the liveability of our communities – a key topic of discussion at the Turnbull Government’s National Cities Summit in Melbourne today.
