MEDIA RELEASE
30th March 2022
Rosebud Secondary College has officially opened their new Wellness Pavilion to support the mental health and wellbeing of their students and the wider community, after a combination of Government funding and community fundraising.
In 2019, the Morrison Government committed $300,000 to make the Pavilion a reality and called upon the State Government to match the funding in a bipartisan agreement to build an invaluable mental health space for the Rosebud community.
Federal Member for Flinders, the Hon. Greg Hunt MP said he was delighted to see the facility up and running after years of working with students, teachers, and supporters of Rosebud Secondary College.
“For a relaxed mind, you need a relaxing space – and that’s exactly what this new wellness pavilion is all about.” Minister Hunt said.
“Thank you to the Rosebud community for getting this project off the ground. This pavilion will be an invaluable space for the community to recuperate mentally and manage stress, especially for students as they go through arduous study.
“I’m delighted to see how this pavilion will help the Rosebud community combined with facilities like Jimmy’s place and headspace – and I’m proud the Morrison Government put forward our $300,000 commitment that the State Government agreed to match.”
