I am delighted that the Southern Peninsula Community Support and Information Centre in Rosebud has received $5,800 to install rooftop solar panels.
This delivers on the Turnbull Government’s election commitment to provide $100,000 through the Solar Communities Program to 17 groups across the electorate.
I am thrilled that this grant will allow Southern Peninsula Community Support and Information Centre to help the environment while reducing their power bills through the addition of solar power.
The Coalition recognises the important role community and household solar plays in Australia’s transition to a low emissions economy with an increase in renewable energy.
This is part of a $5 million commitment to regions across Australia that will help deliver lower electricity costs for community organisations while reducing their emissions.
The funding will help organisations that provide invaluable services to their local communities to go solar, reduce their power bills and emissions, and take advantage of cutting edge battery storage technology.
This is a great initiative that will save these organisations money while allowing them to continue their vital work in the community.
