Monday’s Victorian Budget provides a stern test as to how seriously the Victorian Labor Government takes investment on the Mornington Peninsula.
Federal Member for Flinders, the Hon. Greg Hunt MP, said he hoped Victorian Labor would join with the Federal Coalition Government to invest into the Peninsula community.
“For five months, the Labor Member for Nepean and the Labor Candidate for Flinders have spoken of Labor’s commitment to invest in the Mornington Peninsula,” Minister Hunt said. “Monday’s Budget will be an indication of how serious this investment will be.”
“We are in the position to provide a real partnership with the State Government on vital projects on the Peninsula, including the Jetty Road overpass, the Rosebud Aquatic Centre, the Mornington Peninsula Shire’s Youth Services Hub, Wellness Pavilions for Rosebud Secondary College and Western Port Secondary College, as well as the development of a business case for the Hinterland Environment Water Scheme.”
“All of these projects and several more have the capacity to greatly improve amenities for residents and visitors alike, which is why the Federal Liberal National Government has already invested for the community.
“I urge the Victorian Premier and the Member for Nepean to come to the table and join with the Coalition in investing for the Mornington Peninsula.”
