I am passionate about the Mornington Peninsula community. It is where I grew up and it is where I am now raising my family.
It’s a wonderful community I have been the representative of since 2001.
Every election you have to work hard to secure the support of the voters.
That hasn’t changed.
I will continue to work hard delivering for the people of Flinders.
Recently I spent three weeks walking around the electorate raising awareness of autism and funds for wonderful local groups – Abacus and Light up Autism.
I have worked with the community to clean up the outfall at Gunnamatta Beach, build the Somerville Secondary College, funding for a new pool at Rosebud, protect Point Nepean and ensure the green wedges are maintained.
This is my track record and I am committed to working hard on other projects such as the upgrade the Rosebud Hospital, increase access to cancer treatments, fix local traffic problems like Jetty Road, investment in sporting facilities and the electrification of the Frankston rail line to Baxter.
As Health Minister, I’m also been passionate in improving mental health services, investing in breakthrough medical research and delivering lifesaving medicines for patients with diseases such cystic fibrosis, that otherwise would cost patients tens of thousands of dollars.
These are important issues and I will do my best to continue to serve the community.
