The countdown is on for 500km Walk for AutismWith only two weeks to go until I set out on my 500km walk around the electorate to increase awareness about autism, I am looking forward to the journey and meeting people along the way.
The main reason for my walk is to increase awareness about autism and to get people talking in the community about what they can do to support people with autism.
With more than 230,000 Australians affected by autism, most people know someone who is impacted, whether it is a nephew, brother, aunt, grandchild, friend or colleague.
During the 19 day walk I will also be raising funds to support Abacus Learning Centre in Hastings and Amaze (Autism Victoria).
Both of these organisations are close to my heart and will use the funds to create a brighter future for children with autism and their families.
I encourage anyone who knows someone with autism to join me on my walk, to share their story and to help improve the lives of the next generation of children with autism.
