The intersection of Forest Drive and Nepean Highway in Mount Martha is set for much needed upgrades as part of Federal Government funding.
The Australian Government has committed $200,000 towards an initial upgrade at the Forest Drive and Nepean Highway intersection to improve access and safety.
The upgrades, scheduled for completion before the end of 2017, will reduce the number of northbound traffic lanes through the intersection, meaning fewer lanes to cross, lengthen the left turn lane into Forest Drive and provide better sight distance for vehicles turning out of Forest Drive into Nepean Highway.
Minister Hunt said the much needed upgrade would help alleviate traffic flow issues and help to make this busy intersection safer for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.
“This intersection is one of the most used in my electorate and I am thrilled that $200,000 is being invested into this vital upgrade to improve road safety,” he said.
“VicRoads has confirmed the upgrades are on track and will be completed by the end of the year.”
