Federal Member for Flinders, the Hon. Greg Hunt MP today joined with members of the community to crown Corrine Begg from Hastings the winner of the inaugural Flinders 100 Days, 100 Photos Competition.
Corrine’s photo of jockey Ruby and her horse at Balnarring Beach triumphed over close to 250 other submissions to take out the grand prize of a full canvas print of her photograph.
Mr Hunt congratulated all participants for their entries and Corrine on taking out the title.
“We live in such an incredible part of Australia and this competition provided an amazing glimpse of what life on the Mornington Peninsula has to offer,” Mr Hunt said.
“I received close to 250 entries from all across the Peninsula and after a very close public ballot; Corrine’s fantastic photo came out on top.
“Amazingly, we also had a three-way tie for second place and I’m delighted to announce Andrew Williams from Safety Beach, Frances Henke from Hastings and Cheryl Burnham from Rosebud will also be receiving canvas copies of their photographs.
“Congratulations to all those who entered for their incredible camera work and for showing the unique nature of life on the Peninsula.”
