Twenty community projects across the Mornington Peninsula will share a total of $150,000 of Federal grant funding thanks to the Morrison Government’s Stronger Communities Programme.
The Programme delivers $150,000 to each of the 151 electorates across Australia to fund projects that will improve local community participation and contribute to more vibrant and viable communities.
Federal Member for Flinders, the Hon. Greg Hunt MP, welcomed the funding, saying it would help support groups across the electorate.
“The Mornington Peninsula has so many incredible local community groups that play such a vital role in our lives,” Minister Hunt said. “Round five of the Stronger Communities Programme will see a further 20 projects delivered for our local groups and the community.”
“In total, over $580,000 worth of projects will be delivered for the Mornington Peninsula community as part of round five and I am delighted that the Morrison Government has been able to contribute $150,000 to support local groups in delivering their projects.”
“The Stronger Communities Programme has delivered close to $750,000 to support community groups across the Flinders electorate, including accessibility improvements for the Dromana Bowls Club, public drinking fountains at Mount Martha Lifesaving Club and new computers for the Hastings U3A, just to mention a few.”
“I am proud to be part of a Government that can provide the strong economic management necessary to support our local communities.”
