This election is a clear choice between more of the same from Labor and real change from the Coalition.
Locally it is about protecting the environment, tackling cost of living pressures, supporting jobs and helping families and small businesses prosper.
My first responsibility is to fight for better local facilities and a better quality of life for local residents. If I am re-elected, I will continue to work hard and will do my utmost to:
·
Protect the Mornington Peninsula and Phillip Island from inappropriate development
·
Ensure the community’s voice is heard on the Arthurs Seat tip issue
·
Secure aquatic centres for Rosebud and Phillip Island
·
Upgrade sporting facilities at Mt Martha
·
Ensure urgent repairs to Dromana Pier
·
Improve community safety at Hastings
·
Complete work on a 24-hour police station for Somerville, Baxter and Pearcedale
·
Secure funds for Green Army environment projects at Western Port, Bass Coast and the Mornington Peninsula
·
Build by-passes for Koo Wee Rup and Lang Lang
·
Secure high-speed broadband as a priority for the Mornington Peninsula
·
Re-establish hospital facilities on Phillip Island
·
Protect farmland in Pearcedale, Devon Meadows, Cranbourne South and the Coastal Villages
·
Complete the closure of the Gunnamatta sewage outfall
·
Secure natural gas for the Coastal Villages, Koo Wee Rup and Phillip Island
·
Support the building of a new State secondary college at San Remo
The Coalition offers experienced and stable government, a stronger economy, stronger borders, support for families and businesses and a better future – for all Australians.
In particular, we have a positive plan for the environment with our Direct Action policy to reduce Australia’s carbon emissions, our plan to plant 20 million trees around the country and our plan to establish a 15,000 strong Green Army to work on local environment projects.
Labor is offering just more of the same: more talk, more chaos, more division, more debt, more deficits and more taxes.
Our Real Solutions plan lays down clear actions that will make our country stronger and families more secure – and bring the Budget back under control.
Our first order of business will be scrapping the Carbon Tax to immediately reduce the cost of living for local residents and relieve the financial pressure on local small businesses.
A major focus will be job security coupled with a plan to generate one million new jobs over the next five years and two million new jobs within 10 years.
We will also work to deliver better health and educational services that put local communities firmly in charge.
Between now and the election I will be campaigning every day on the positive choice offered by the Coalition at this election.
It is only by voting for the Coalition that our community can get a strong voice in a better government.
If elected, I look forward to playing a key role as a member of the Victorian team and as a Victorian voice in a Coalition Government and Cabinet.
