Veterans have received a welcome funding boost through the latest round of the Veteran and Community Grants programme.
It is my pleasure to announce that two veterans groups in the Flinders electorate will benefit significantly from these grants.
Hastings RSL has received $70,160 for the refurbishment of its kitchen facilities to enhance activities provided to the veteran community.
I also congratulate the Koo Wee Rup Bowling Club on receiving $7,790 to assist in upgrading and refurbishing its facilities.
These grants, made to organisations around the country, recognise the community’s appreciation of those who have served our country.
The dedication and hard work of organisations such as the Hastings RSL and the Koo Wee Rup Bowling Club ensures veterans and their families have somewhere they can socialise, get involved in recreational activities or simply spend time with mates.
Ex-service and veterans groups that contribute to the health and welfare of the veteran community are eligible to apply for funding through the Veteran and Community Grants programme.
