I am delighted to announce that grants of between $5,000 and $20,000 are available through Round 2 of the Coalition Government’s Stronger Communities Program, which opened this week.
Grants will be made available to not-for-profit organisations for local projects across the electorate, covering 50 per cent of the project cost.
The Stronger Communities Program will provide $45 million over two years to fund small capital projects.
In my electorate of Flinders, we will receive funding of $150,000 per year over two years to support capital projects that deliver social benefits to the wider community.
I will be consulting closely with eligible organisations to identify high priority projects and welcome community groups to approach me with ideas.
The grants will fund small capital projects that deliver social benefits to a variety of groups by supporting participation and contributing to the vibrancy and viability of our local community.
Local governments and incorporated not-for-profit organisations are eligible to apply, provided they have a current ABN.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate matched funding for the project, either in cash or in-kind.
Round 1 was highly successful with many worthy projects presented from across the Flinders electorate.
I look forward to seeing new local projects taking shape as a result of this terrific initiative.
I encourage local groups to contact my office on 5979 3188 or complete an initial project proposal form through my website www.greghunt.com.au. Initial project proposal forms must be fully submitted to my office by March 17.
